The Sports Committee currently governs the Upward Sports Program held at Beech Church.  While we do see Upward as an outreach ministry, it is such a large undertaking that this does not fall under the Outreach Committee.  We host Upward Basketball, a program in which the game of basketball is used as a mode of teaching the truths of God to children and their families.  Devotions are held at each practice and game.

 

The Sports Committee is responsible for giving guidance to this program, which includes: staffing (in all areas – coaches, referees, memory verse table, concession stand, score keepers, etc.), dividing teams, prayer concerns, devotion material for the coaches, half-time messages, etc.
