Basic Tenents of Our Faith
The Living God – We believe in one true and living God. God is the Creator, the Caretaker the Alpha and the Omega.
Holy Trinity – We believe in the Holy Trinity which consists of God – the Father; God the Son – Jesus, Christ our Savior; and God the Holy Spirit who is God working within all of His creation.
Holy Scriptures – We believe the Bible is the inerrant, infallible word of God. God used members of His covenant community to write the scriptures for His people. We use the Bible as the basis for our worship. We preach, study, pray and sing the Bible. It is the authoritative rule for Christian living. The Bible is comprised of the 66 books within the Old and New Testaments.
God’s Covenant – We believe God establishes a covenant relationship with His people. By entering a covenant relationship with God, God promises to be faithful to us and we in turn must accept Christ as our Savior, repent of our sins and live to the glory of God.
Sin & Salvation – We believe human beings sin and are in need of spiritual rebirth. We also believe the Holy Spirit works within us calling us to repent and to have faith. We believe our sins can only be atoned for through Christ’s sacrifice. We believe God extends a call to humanity and gives us the freedom to choose to respond to that call. Good works cannot make us right with God, but are our proper response of gratitude for His salvation . . . good works are the outward proclamation of our faith.
Sacraments – We believe in two Sacraments – Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. The Sacraments are central to Christian worship. The elements of water, fruit of the vine and bread are symbols of the covenant relationship we have with our Father. The Sacraments are not essential to salvation, but we believe they are necessary means of grace.
Sacrament of Baptism – We believe Baptism represents the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It marks individuals as members of the Church. We administer Baptism to infants of parents who are members of the Church. We also administer Baptism to adults who have not affirmed their acceptance of Christ as their Savior and have not previously received the Sacrament. We sprinkle water as the method of Baptism however we do not believe the mode of Baptism is essential.
Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper – We believe the Lord’s Supper is symbolized by bread (leavened or unleavened) and the fruit of the vine. The bread symbolizes Christ’s body and the fruit of the vine (grape juice or wine) represents the blood of Christ that was spilled for our salvation. All who believe are accepted to this table. We believe this table should not be approached without self-examination and with reverence.
Marriage – We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant relationship between one man and one woman for the mutual benefit of each, children and society. We believe marriage represents the relationship of Christ and the Church and is a human relationship where love and trust are best known. We do not believe marriage to be a sacrament.
Death & Resurrection – We believe death is suffered both spiritually and physically. We believe that through Jesus Christ, God acts to release us from the bondage of death. As believers, we believe we will pass from the death of sin into a life with God. Death holds no fear over us. Because we have been regenerated in Christ, we live with the joyful expectation that after our death, redemption will be complete and our body resurrected.

Apostle's Creed
Ibelieve in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit; born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead and buried. He descended into Hades. The third day, He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father of Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the Holy Christian Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the dead; and life everlasting.
